Welcome to St. John's Lutheran Church of El Segundo. We are a member congregation of the Lutheran Church -- Missouri Synod, a body formed in 1847 which has 2.4 million members in 6100 parishes across the United States, as well as being in fellowship with a number of sister churches around the world. St. John's was founded in 1954 as a mission congregation of First Lutheran in Manhattan Beach, and is presently being served by interim pastors until such time as a new pastor is called by our congregation.

Pastor Chuck Brady for 30 years was Pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church and School  in South Gate. Pastor Brady retired from Redeemer in January, 2007.  He has served his church as a delegate to two national church conventions and as Circuit Councilor from 2006-09.   He served as Intentional Interim Pastor at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bellflower from January 2008 through December,  2009.   In January 2010,  he begins as Pastor here at St. John’s El Segundo.  Pastor Brady has served as past President of the South Gate Ministerial Association, and past President of South Gate Churches in Action.  He has served for 20 years as a Chaplain for South Gate Police Department.  For the past 17 years he has served as a Commissioner on the South Gate Youth Commission- where he currently is Chairperson.  He is a member of the Optimist  Club.   In 2007 he  had the  honor of being Grand Marshall of the South Gate Azalea parade.    Pastor Chuck  has been married for 41 years to his beautiful wife Sandra, who teaches 6th grade English and History at South Gate Middle School.  The Brady’s have 4 grown children and 5 grandchildren.  Brady is a graduate of University of California at Berkeley, and of Concordia Theological Seminary at Fort Wayne, Indiana

St. John's is an orthodox, confessional Lutheran church, which means that we hold to traditional Lutheran teachings regarding Law and Gospel, we hold that the Holy Scriptures are the inspired and true Word of God, and that the Book of Concord is an accurate exposition of the Bible. We follow the historic liturgy and sing the classic hymns of our faith for Divine Service, which is held on Sundays at 10 AM.

Please feel free to contact the church if you have any questions, prayer requests or would like more information.
